Adaven , Advanced Evaluation Network

Your Health Record.

Adaven gathers your lab results, hospital records and the readings from your phone into a single record. It is encrypted with a key made for you alone, seen by no one you have not named, and kept until you decide otherwise.

01 Record

Every value says where it came from.

A cholesterol result from a lab, a resting heart rate from a watch and a blood pressure taken at home sit in one record, each with its value, its source, its date and a trust level.

When two sources report the same measurement, the one with the higher trust stands and the other is kept as confirmation.

Example. The values are illustrative.
Verified
Sent by a lab or a hospital’s own system.
Device
Recorded by a watch, cuff, scale or phone.
Document
Read from a report you upload.
Manual
Typed in by you.

02 System

How a record is built.

Four stages, in order. Nothing passes from one person’s record to another’s except by that person’s choice, and every read is logged.

  1. 01

    Sources

    • Hospitals and clinics on Epic MyChart
    • Lab reports and spreadsheets
    • Apple Health on iPhone
    • Health Connect on Android
  2. 02

    Checks

    • Codes and units checked against open standards
    • Duplicates merged; the higher trust stands
    • Every value keeps its source and date
    • Results read against the lab’s range or a named guideline
  3. 03

    Record

    • One record per person
    • Encrypted with a key made for that person
    • Stored as FHIR R4
    • Kept for life, exportable at any time
  4. 04

    Access

    • You
    • Relatives you name, subject by subject
    • Clinician links you create, for 1 to 30 days
    • Every read written to your access log
Adaven reads from the sources and writes only to your record.

03 Sources

What Adaven reads, and how.

Adaven only reads. It is given access by you, at each source, and the access can be withdrawn there or in Adaven at any time.

  • Hospitals and clinics on Epic MyChartAvailable

You sign in on MyChart’s own page. Adaven receives read-only access and never sees the password.

  • Lab reports and spreadsheetsAvailable

Upload a PDF or a spreadsheet. Each value is read, labelled and kept with the file it came from.

  • Apple Health on iPhonePrivate testing

The iPhone app copies the readings you allow. Labs and clinics linked in the Health app, Labcorp and Quest among them, come with it.

  • Health Connect on AndroidPrivate testing

The Android app copies what Samsung Health, Fitbit and other apps record, for the types you allow.

04 Family

What runs in the family, shared on purpose.

Heart disease and several cancers run in families. A relative’s history is often the most useful thing a doctor can be told, and the hardest to find out.

In Adaven each person decides, by subject and by relative, what others may see. Nothing is shared by default, a relationship counts only once both people confirm it, and every read is in the owner’s access log.

An example family over three generations, described in the list that follows.1243567
  • You
  • Shares with you
  • Not on Adaven
  1. Grandfather. Shares his heart and cancer history with blood relatives.

  2. Grandmother. Not on Adaven. A relative can record what they know of her, as family history.

  3. Father. Shares his heart history with his children.

  4. Mother. Shares nothing. Her record is hers alone.

  5. Aunt. Shares her heart history and keeps her weight to herself.

  6. You. See what each of them chose to share, and nothing else.

  7. Sister. Invited. Nothing passes either way until she chooses.

05 Origin

It started with one family’s records.

Twelve years of lab results, hospital visits and watch data sat in a dozen portals and apps, each with its own login, its own format and its own idea of a unit. No one place held the whole picture, and nobody in the family could see what ran in it.

Adaven was built to put that record together and keep it: one record per person, owned by that person, read from the source, and shared within the family only by choice.

It is being opened to more people slowly, as each part proves itself on the records it was built for. Adaven is made by Avalen LLC.

06 Terms

The terms Adaven holds itself to.

Six commitments, each stated in full in the privacy policy.

Read the privacy policy

  1. Your record is encrypted with a key created for you alone. Deleting the record destroys the key, so nothing readable remains, backups included.

  2. Adaven reads and never writes. Nothing changes at your hospital, your lab or on your phone.

  3. No one sees your record unless you name them. Every read, by a relative, a clinician link or Adaven staff, is written to an access log you can open.

  4. No advertising, no sale of data, and no advertising or data-broker partners, in any form.

  5. The record exports in open standards, FHIR R4 and LOINC, whenever you ask.

  6. It is stored in the United States on Google Cloud, under a HIPAA business associate agreement.

07 Questions

Questions people ask first.

  • Is Adaven medical advice?

No. Adaven organises your records so you and your doctors can see the whole picture. It does not diagnose and does not replace a doctor.

  • Who can see my record?

You, and the people you name. Every read is written to an access log you can open, including any read by Adaven staff.

  • Can I keep something from my family?

Yes. Sharing is chosen by subject and by person, and nothing is shared until you choose. You can keep your weight to yourself while sharing everything else, and change any choice later.

  • What happens if I delete my record?

The record is encrypted with a key created for you alone. Deleting it destroys that key, so nothing readable is left, backups included.

  • Does Adaven see my hospital password?

No. You sign in on the hospital’s own page. Adaven receives read-only permission, which you can withdraw at any time.

  • My hospital or lab is not listed. Can I still use it?

Usually. Most hospitals on Epic MyChart connect directly. Labs and clinics linked in the iPhone’s Health app come through the app. Anything else can come in as a PDF or a spreadsheet.

  • Is there a phone app?

Yes, for iPhone and Android, in private testing. The website works on any phone.
